Adventure Starts at the Trees. Are You Coming?

The Hammock Trail: Sweden drops you into the heart of Sweden's Glaskogen Nature Reserve, a wild maze of forests, lakes, and endless horizon. Here, you don't sleep on the ground. You float. Your hammock hangs between pines, the wind becomes your lullaby, and the first light of the morning breaks right through your doorway.

For 6 days, hike through one of Scandinavia's most peaceful wilderness. By day, we move through the forests. By night, hang by the fire, swapping stories with a small crew of fellow adventurers before stargazing, drifting away in your hammock. Wake up suspended above mossy forest floors, watching dawn paint the landscape in slow motion. This isn't just camping, it's an entirely new way to experience the outdoors.

Never done this before? Doesn't matter; all you need is a sense of adventure, and we'll show you the ropes. Book your adventure now and create unforgettable memories you want to hang on to.

15:00 Arrive at Glaskogen & briefing
16:00 Start hiking
  • Arrival
  • Hiking
  • Setup

Your adventure begins in Arvika, where you'll meet your fellow adventurers and guides before heading deep into the Swedish wilderness. After a friendly gear and safety briefing, the real journey starts. Your first hike cuts through the quiet forest trails and opens up to the kind of still-water views Sweden is known for. Tonight, you'll learn how to set up your hammock beneath the trees, share a forest-cooked meal under the open sky, and bond over a story that has only just begun.

Day 2: Deeper into the Wild

  • Hiking
  • Nature
  • Camping

Wake to birdsong drifting across the pines. After breakfast, we move farther into Glaskogen's wilderness. Trails weave between lakes, wooden bridges, and soft forest paths. The pace is steady, the silence real, and the wilderness becomes your backdrop for the entire day. Another night of hammock camping in the wild as we start learning the ropes. Finding the perfect place to hang tight for the night.

Day 3: Finding the Rhythm

  • Trekking
  • Swimming
  • Campfire Stories

By now, the forest starts to feel familiar. The pace becomes natural. Today brings a mixed terrain, shaded forests, and beautiful streams. If the weather allows, jump into one of Glaskogen's cold, clear lakes, a true Scandanavian reset. Evening brings campfire warmth and shared stories, the kind that always come easier after a long day outdoors.

Day 4: The Adventure Continues

  • Hiking
  • Scenic Viewpoints
  • Group Bonding

Fuel up and push toward higher viewpoints. The landscape shifts as we continue our hike, panoramic views, and Swedish wilderness in every direction. This is one of the trip's most rewarding hiking days. By nightfall, the group feels tight-knit. By now you're a hammocking expert

Day 5: One Last Swing

  • Last Hike
  • Final Camp

Your last full day in the wild. After breakfast, we cover our final stretch of trail before reaching our last camp, a quiet, scenic spot. Spend the afternoon swimming wandering around camp, or simply resting in your hammock as the forest settles around you.

Day 6: Farewell Glaskogen

12:00 Lunch at Café Carl
14:00 Leave Glaskogen
15:00 Arrive at Arvika
  • Departure
  • Farewell
  • Reflection

Rise and shine, one last morning hike brings you back to the world you knew, giving you time to soak in the final views of Glaskogen's lakes and forests. At Café Carl, share a lunch with the group, your final celebration before heading back to Arvika, thinking about the memories you want to hang on to.

Note: This itinerary serves as an example. The Hammock Trail: Sweden is dynamic and based on the group's preferences, including distance, pace, and daily schedule. We stay flexible, just like the wilderness.

What other Adventurers say about The Hammock Trail

We had a fantastic trip! If you are considering joining one of the trips, I would highly recommend doing so! For me, sleeping in a hammock was a new experience and it did not disappoint. It was clear that Hammock Haven has a lot of experience with hammocking and hiking because all the little details were very well designed. The hammocks were very comfortable and easy to set up, pack and carry. The guides were two brothers with a great sense of humour that managed to always keep a great atmosphere in the group, even on the day with a lot of rain. They were also very knowledgeable and willing to help when setting up our hammocks for the night. They even brought a set of birthday decorations because they noticed one of us would have a birthday during the trip! The route was both challenging and beginner friendly with great scenery. It was designed with some potential shortcuts, so on the rainy day we could cut a bit off our hiking day to get to the next campsite. You are advised to use trekking poles though, since some parts can be very slippery without them. The foodpacks were very well thought out and every meal was a pleasant surprise. I have been hiking for 7 years and never had such a tasty and diverse set of meals on my trips. An absolute must add-on!
